OU TORAH
New Shiurim for 5771
Rabbi Jack Abramowitz
Recently, the OU expanded its Torah features with popular parsha content from Rabbi Shalom Rosner, Rabbi Bernie Fox and Britain’s Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. As we enter 5771, the OU announces new shiurim, the likes of which may never have been made available online before.
First, the OU presents Rav Aharon Kahn, a rosh yeshiva at RIETS, where he holds the position of Joel Jablonski Chair in Talmud and Codes. Rav Kahn will be presenting an incredible shiur on Jewish life and ethos based on sefer Mishlei, which has been called the greatest musar sefer ever written. This shiur will utilize the classical commentaries of Rashi, Rabbeinu Yonah, the Vilna Gaon, and more.
Next, Rabbi Shalom Rosner, lecturer in Reishit Yerushalayim and Shaalvim, introduces a brand new series in addition to his parsha shiur and his “daf b’iyun” already appearing on ou.org. This new series, on Sefer HaMitzvos, also serves to complement the OU’s Taryag by providing greater insight into the mitzvos. This shiur utilizes not only the Sefer HaMitzvos of the Rambam, but also the Sefer HaChinuch, the Minchas Chinuch, and other sources designed to deepen one's understanding of and appreciation for the mitzvos.
But that’s not all! Additional programs on mishna and halacha are also in the works, so keep visiting www.ou.org/torah to keep up to date with all the latest developments!
