General Information
JOLT
NCSY’s Jewish Overseas Leadership Training (JOLT) program provides an experience like no other. JOLT is an intense leadership program designed for truly exceptional high school teens.
JOLT begins with a life-altering visit to Poland. Witness the horrific death camps of Majdanek, Treblinka, and Lublin and walk the infamous march from Auschwitz to Birkenau.
Following Poland, your journey to being a Jewish leader begins, as you travel to a picturesque campsite in the Austrian Alps. Participants are given the opportunity to work as counselors at the OU/NCSY summer camp there and help create educational programs that will enable you to connect with wonderfully energetic Jewish children from across Eastern Europe.
After Europe, the program’s focus shifts from our Jewish history to the future of the Jewish people. Participants will travel to Israel where they will have a not-to-be-forgotten experience through which they see Israel in an all-new light.
Past participants have described the JOLT experience as having a truly transformational impact on their identity as Jews and leaders of the Jewish people.
Individuals with leadership experience will be given priority.
