O.U. Beautiful Child - Our Third Year Imagine being a child in a hospital on Chanukah? The loneliness of Chanukah in a hospital for both parents and children can be overwhelming. When going out on a date - sometimes you know the person, and sometimes it's a blind date. I would like to ask you to go on a very special date - inexpensive, yet guaranteed to give pleasure and happiness, and bring a smile to a child's face: seeing the light of joy reflected in the eyes of a hospitalized child. Beginning Sunday, December, 5th , the second day of Chanukah, and throughout the week, please join us in a special "Chessed" project of visiting the Children's section of a hospital, bringing a wrapped gift, with a value of up to $10.00. Arrangements are now being made with several hospitals in the New York area requesting their cooperation. Hospital physicians and staff receiving this note are welcomed to call me and assist in facilitating our visit. If you cannot join the hospital visit, please send a suggested contribution of $10.00 to arrive by Wednesday, December 1st so that we may purchase and wrap gifts for the children. Depending on where you live, you will be contacted to meet other participants at the hospital reception desk at a pre-arranged morning time for distribution of gifts to the children. Please participate in this special Mitzvah, remove the darkness of loneliness, and illuminate the light of love and caring for a hospitalized child. Please fill out the online registration form or call (212) 613-8188 for more information. Thank you and Happy Chanukah! Frank Buchweitz Deadline for receipt Wednesday, December 1, 1999. |
