How Difficult Can This Be? The F.A.T. City Workshop"
Sharon Garrett, LCSW, BCD
Ms. Garrett has a thriving private practice for children and their families.
She is currently at Emek Academy three days a week where she provides
clinical and academic consultation to parents, children and staff for the
benefit of each child. Her background includes teaching elementary and
middle grades and the development of innovative programs for children with
special learning challenges. She has taught child development classes on the
college level and has done numerous in-service workshops for parents and
professionals alike

Responding to Anger in Children
Shirley Lebovics, LCSW
Mrs. Lebovics is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in
Beverly Hills where she offers counseling to adults, families and children.
Her area of expertice is in the field of domestic violence, trauma and anger
management and has written extensively on these topics.

Conflict Resolution in the Family
Ernest Katz, Ph.D
Dr. katz is director of the Behavioral Sciences Section in the Children's
Center for Cancer and Blood Deseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr.
Katz and his staff assist children and teens with serious health problems in
their adjustment to illness and treatment, along with their families. As a
Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Psychology in the Keck School of
Medicine, USC, Dr. Katz is active in teaching and research. He is also a
clinical psychologist in private practice, specializing in the care of
children, adolescents and families. Dr. Katz and his wife Frieda are the
parents of five children and one grandson.
Session 2C:
Overindulging Children
Darla Dunlop, Ph.D.
Dr. Dunlop is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice with more
than 30 years experience in the mental health field. She has served on the
Board of Directors of the LA County Psychological Association and the San
Fernando Valley Psychological Association. She was the Director of
Development at the Alcott Center and is currently the Director of
Development at the Switzer Center, a special education school for children
with learning and emotional problems. Dr. Dunlop is a member of the graduate
psychology faculty at Mount St. Mary's College and teaches education
programs for families of those challenged by mental illness, learning
disabilities and developmental disorders.
