CONGRESSMAN GARRETT MEETS LOCAL ORTHODOX JEWISH LEADERSHIP
Orthodox Union sponsored event in Bergenfield helps familiarize Congressman with issues of concern

Recently, Congressman Scott Garrett (R-NJ-5) met with local Orthodox Jewish leadership in Bergenfield, NJ to gain a better understanding of the concerns and priorities of the community. Among the issues raised were the need to support Israel in the fight against Arab terror, the Iranian nuclear threat, homeland security needs for synagogues and day schools, the burden faced by yeshiva parents and the hope for more governmental aid to day schools or families of day school students, the need to protect the rights of the Sabbath observant in the workplace, and the unique requirements of Orthodox Jewish families with children with special needs.
