Orthodox Union Congratulates Mayor-elect Michael Bloomberg
The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of
America, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish synagogue organization, today congratulated Michael Bloomberg on his election as the new mayor of New York City. Betty Ehrenberg, Director of International and Communal Affairs, said, “We wish Mayor-elect Bloomberg the best of success as he makes the transition to assume the post of mayor of New York.
In this tumultuous time for New York City as its citizens recover from the shock of the September 11th terrorist attacks, we support the new mayor-elect in all his efforts to rebuild our city and to help reunite New Yorkers of all stripes. We know that Mayor-elect Bloomberg’s record as a successful business leader and entrepreneur will serve him well as he begins to help the city to recover. We extend our best wishes to Mayor-elect Bloomberg and stand with him in the belief that New York will indeed bounce back stronger than
ever."
