OU Applauds Inclusion of Religious Values in Public Life

The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America today praised the increased embrace of spirituality and religious values in public life.  We believe that spirituality and religious values play an important role in setting the standards for moral behavior in our society.  While government should not support or endorse one religion over another nor seek to impose its beliefs, our leaders and officials are well-served to draw inspiration from religious beliefs and values.  Those who do should not be the target of criticism that may be motivated by an uneasiness with the discussion of religiosity in the public square.
