The Union of Orthodox Congregations of America has been asked to publicize to those victims of Nazi persecution and their heirs who may have claims against Bank Austria and Creditanstalt that these banks have agreed to pay 40 million dollars in settlement of legal claims relating to the conduct of their business before and during World War II. Those who were damaged by the Nazi regime and were damaged indirectly or directly by these Austrian banks may be eligible to participate in this settlement. The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York will hold a hearing on November 1st, 1999 to decide to whether the Settlement should be given final approval.

If you are not sure whether you are affected, you should request a detailed Mailed Notice. Not all Holocaust survivors or their heirs are affected by this settlement. If you think that you have been damaged directly or indirectly through Bank Austria or Creditanstalt through having had assets on deposit at these banks which were confiscated, stolen and not returned or which were looted by the Nazis and transferred to these banks or a variety of other circumstances, you should request a Mailed Notice for more information.
