New NCSY
Regional Directors
Ms. Jamie Vichinsky Named New Regional Director
of Upstate New York Region Of NCSY,
OU’s Renowned Youth Program
Ms. Jamie Vichinsky has been
appointed Regional Director of the Upstate New York Region of the
National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY), the Orthodox Union’s
renowned youth program for junior high and high school students. The
Region’s central office is located in New York City, with chapters in
Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Rochester, Schenectady and Syracuse.
“Under Ms. Vichinsky’s leadership, Upstate New York will continue to
expand and reach out to Jewish teens in isolated cities, as a result of
her relaxed, fun attitude combined with her dynamic energy. Never let
her soft-spoken manner fool you -- it masks a fervent, goal oriented
leader,” declared OU President, Stephen J. Savitsky.
“During my short tenure as National Director of NCSY, there have been a
few particular developments that have given me the most satisfaction,
such as knowing that all the newly installed regional directors are NCSY
personnel,” said Rabbi Steven Burg, who recently assumed his position.
“This new crop of regional directors has grown-up professionally in NCSY,
been mentored by NCSY staff, and has chosen to stay with NCSY because
these directors have grown wholly dedicated and committed to our
organization. I believe one of the greatest testaments of NCSY’s success
lies in this new generation of leaders that NCSY, itself, has
cultivated.”
Programming for this school year is already underway. To attend NCSY
programs and activities, or for additional information, contact Ms.
Vichinsky at (212) 613-8145 or e-mail her at
