OU West Coast Region
to Honor Donors Who Made Retiring
of Mortgage Possible
9831 West Pico
Boulevard
Los Angeles
Sunday, November 7
3:30 p.m.
The Orthodox Union’s West Coast Region first
purchased the building at 9831 West Pico Boulevard four years ago with
the dream of creating a permanent home for its various activities,
ranging from the National Conference of Synagogue Youth, Yachad and Our
Way, to adult education opportunities and all that the OU has to offer
its members and synagogues.
After major renovations, including creating a courtyard, adding a
multi-purpose room that can seat 100 people, and a reconfigured beit
medrash for studying Jewish texts, the region will host a gala
celebration to retire the mortgage.
For more information, contact Rabbi Alan Kalinsky, Director of the OU
West Coast Region, at 310.229.9000.
The OU West Coast Region serves the states of California, Oregon,
Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, as well as Western Canada.
The celebration will honor the 40 leading families who made up the
“Capital Campaign” donors, making it possible for the OU to retire the
mortgage so quickly.
Dr. Larry Eisenberg, President of the OU West Coast Region, declared,
“Thanks to the families who realized the importance of the Region’s
work, we are able to retire the mortgage early which helps us provide
invaluable programs for our community and ensures the viability of these
programs for future generations.” He continued, “The added space we now
have enables us to expand services to our community.”
The “Retiring of the Mortgage” will take place at the building on
Sunday, November 7 beginning at 3:30 p.m. with hors d’oevres and wine
tasting followed by a program and a reception. OU Executive Vice
President Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb will lead the delegation from the
OU’s national headquarters in New York to attend the event.
