NJ and Staten Island:
OU Yachad Program for
Learning Disabled to Hold First Two Events
of the Season
on Sunday
The Orthodox Union’s Yachad
program for young people with learning, physical and developmental
disabilities, will sponsor two “Welcome Back to Yachad” season-opening
events on Sunday, September 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Brooklyn Yachad members will join with mainstream students from Magen
David High School at Clove Lake Park in Staten Island; while Yachad
members from Long Island, Queens, New Jersey and Monsey, NY will attend
a barbeque at the Kushner School in Livingston, NJ.
“We look forward to welcoming our members back from their summer
programs to begin the school year activities,” said Sima Morell, Program
Director for the OU’s National Jewish Council for Disabilities, which
includes Yachad, as well as Our Way for young adults with hearing
impairments. “I know we will enjoy ourselves in the inclusive atmosphere
that Yachad creates for all those who participate in our programs.”
