Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wolinetz to be Honored at
OU National Anniversary Dinner

Naomi and Harvey Wolinetz will be honored by the Orthodox Union with its Boneh Yerushalayim Award for their long-standing commitment to community service and their contributions to Jewish life, at the OU’s 103tf Anniversary National Dinner on Sunday, May 20, 2001, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York.

Harvey Wolinetz was graduated from Yeshiva University with a B.A. in psychology and received a Masters of Science degree in communications from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Yeshiva University.  Mr. Wolinetz has been a New York State licensed real estate broker for over 30 years.  He has been an active partner in the Westchester management firm of Sovereign Servicing, an investor and broker in the buying and selling of real estate and the development of a portfolio of mortgage receivables that led to the formation of Harvey Wolinetz Mortgage Servicing and Park National Capital Funding.

Naomi Wolinetz (nee Fein) was graduated with a BA from City University of New York. She has been involved with aiding abused and battered women in Monsey, was a past president of the Sharon Rockland chapter of Amit and currently serves on Amit’s national board of directors.

Mr. Wolinetz is a past president of the Community Synagogue of Monsey and the Schreiber Hebrew Academy of Rockland.  He currently serves on the Rockland County Rent Guidelines Board, is a vice president of the Orthodox Union, chairman of its Israel Commission and previously served as the financial secretary of the OU.

Mr. and Mrs. Wolinetz have a son, Aron, and three married daughters, Tammy to Ken Schaum, Rena to Marshall Katz, and Atara to Rabbi Michael Reichel and a bunch of lovely grandchildren.

“Throughout their lives, the Wolinetz’s have personified the ideals of tikkun olam  (repairing the world),” said OU President Harvey Blitz.  “We are proud to honor their selfless devotion to the greater community and to klal Yisrael.”

Other honorees at the Union’s Anniversary Dinner include: Rabbi Kenneth Hain; Rabbi Abraham Cooper; and Rosalyn and Franklyn Snitow.
