Looking for a unique summer learning experience abroad? Want to meet with Arab, Ethiopian, Russian and Chassidic families to learn about their family structure? Interested in hearing guest lecturers discuss problems faced by the different cultures living in the Holy Land? Curious about the problems presented by families in an absorption center?
Details: NYU is proud to present a month long learning experience in Israel featuring two 3-credit graduate courses: E63.2684 Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling and E63.2181 Psychological Disturbances in Children. You must register for both courses.
You will attend lectures, interview families of different cultures, visit a psychiatric hospital, spend time in an immigrant absorption center, participate in joint seminars with graduate students studying in Israel, and travel to major religious and cultural sites
Requirements: Open to all graduate students and to qualified undergraduate NYU seniors approved by their advisors. Cost of the program includes courses, meals, travel and trips. Partial scholarships are available for Steinhardt graduate students.
