OU CHAIRMAN STEPHEN J. SAVITSKY TO SERVE AS SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE AT ATLANTIC BEACH JEWISH CENTER, THIS SHABBAT, AUGUST 24

Orthodox Union Chairman of the Board Stephen J. Savitsky, who as President and in his current position, has traveled far and wide bringing the message of the OU to member congregations, will not have to venture far from his home in Hewlett, this Shabbat, August 24, Parshat Ki Tavo, when he will visit OU member synagogue Atlantic Beach Jewish Center as Scholar-in-Residence.

Mr. Savitsky will deliver the sermon, “Smile When You Come to Shul. Hashem Is Watching.” At the Shalosh Seudah, he will speak about “Three Situations That Can Derail the Explosive Growth in the Torah World: The Future Leadership Role of Women in Orthodox Jewish Life; the Shidduch Crisis for Women (Men Are Doing Just Fine); and Do We Build Open or Closed Societies in the Torah World?

While the synagogue conducts a search for a rabbi, it brings in a different Scholar-in-Residence every week. As he has done countless times in countless places, Mr. Savitsky will present stimulating talks on the successes and challenges facing the Torah world.
