OU’S RABBI STEVEN WEIL TO VISIT MONTREAL AS SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE AT CONGREGATION TIFERETH BETH DAVID JERUSALEM, JUNE 14-15

Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Rabbi Steven Weil will visit Montreal to serve as Scholar-in-Residence at Congregation Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem, from Friday, June 14-Saturday, June 15 (Shabbat Parshat Chukat).

Led by Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz, the OU member synagogue is located at 6519 Baily Road in Côte Saint-Luc.

Friday night, Rabbi Weil will give his popular presentation, “Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus: The Orthodox Version.” He will speak Shabbat morning on “The Two Greatest Challenges Facing Orthodox Jewry in the 21st Century.”

As the day goes on, Rabbi Weil will give an afternoon class, discussing “Jephte’s Daughter.” Finally, he will speak during the synagogue’s seudat shlishit on “Defining a Jew’s Weltanschauug (philosophical outlook).”

“Rabbi Weil is a dear friend for the past 25 years,” shared Rabbi Steinmetz. “He has always been an enormous visionary; within the past ten years alone, he has seen what should be and gets it done. His visit will be a real treat for our congregation, as it is crucial for our community to hear from Rabbi Weil on what our Orthodox community (and the Orthodox community at large) will need to do to address our future.”
