As part of its ongoing ParnossahWorks job placement initiative, the Orthodox Union, in conjunction with FEGS Health and Human Services, Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, will present a free career employment workshop on Wednesday, May 24 from 9:45-12:00 p.m.

It will be held at Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, 150-05 70th Road.

Since the program was launched in September 2004, it has placed 321 (as of April 10, 2006) clients in the New York area in gainful employment.

ParnossahWorks is a joint project of the OU and FEGS, created for the Orthodox and Jewish community at large, with OU synagogues in the Tri-State area serving as a network for the project. It is a unique placement service that combines state of the art technology with career counseling and assistance by trained FEGS staff.

The workshop, Effective Job Search Strategy and Networking: the Keys to the Hidden Job Market, will teach job hunters the most effective ways to search for the best job for them. They will hear an analysis of current techniques and learn additional methods to tap the hidden job market.

“You will leave with at least three new contacts to help you in your job search,” OU and FEGS promise. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet personally with the ParnossahWorks staff at the conclusion of the workshops to discuss their employment needs.
