Over 90 People Register for OU Job Board Event in Teaneck, 3/22

16 Mar 2009

Registration for the Orthodox Union’s Job Board’s “Resume Checkup Day” opened just a few days ago, but already, over 90 people have reserved a space for the Sunday, March 22 event. It will take place from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Congregation Rinat Yisrael, 389 West Englewood Avenue, Teaneck.

The free event is being co-sponsored by the Jewish Family Services of Bergen County, and is open to everyone, not just New Jersey residents.

Michael Rosner, Director of the OU Job Board, declared, “We knew that there was a need for this type of event, but we had no idea that spaces would be filled at such a quick pace. Because of such a positive response, we may have to close registration much sooner than we expected.”

Over 15 experts, including human resources officials; resume writing professionals; and college professors, will work one-on-one with those in attendance to help spruce up their resumes and get them up-to-date. This event is perfect for college graduates, and also includes helping both the unemployed and those who are currently employed but wish to update and revise their resumes for the future. There will be printers available to redo the corrected resume, and career counselors will be available to help decide the best professional path to pursue.

Luckily, there is another event coming up for those who miss out on the Teaneck program. On April 26, there will be a Chesed Community Fair at Lander College for Women’s campus in Manhattan. Social service organizations from New York and New Jersey will attend. There will also be experts on hand to help update resumes.

Time is running out if you wish to register for the Teaneck Resume Checkup. To do so, visit www.ou.org/jobs, or contact jobs@ou.org or 212-613-8391.
