OU’s Rabbi Weinreb to Keynote 6/1 Yom Yerushalayim Celebration in Monsey Area

OU’S RABBI WEINREB TO KEYNOTE YOM YERUSHALAYIM CELEBRATION IN MONSEY AREA, JUNE 1; WILL FOCUS ON “JERUSALEM IN THREE DIMENSIONS: SPACE, TIME AND SOUL”

OU Executive Vice President, Emeritus, Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb will be the keynote speaker as the Monsey/Wesley Hills/Blueberry Hill community celebrates Yom Yerushalayim, Jerusalem Reunification Day, on Monday, June 1, the 28th of Iyar, commemorating the day the IDF returned all of Jerusalem to Israeli control in the 1967 War.

The event is a Rockland Synagogue Community Project, coordinated by the OU Department of Community Services | Jewish Community Programs under the direction of Monsey resident Frank Buchweitz.

The title of Rabbi Weinreb’s address will be “Jerusalem in Three Dimensions: Space, Time, and Soul.”

The communal celebration is sponsored by Congregation Ahavat Yisrael of Wesley Hills; Congregation Bais Torah, Community Synagogue of Monsey; Kehillas Bais Yehuda of Wesley Hills; Congregation Ohaiv Yisroel of Blueberry Hill; and Young Israel of Monsey and Wesley Hills. It will be held at Kehillas Bais Yehudah, 23 Lime Kiln Road at 8:30 p.m. preceded by Minchah and Maariv at 8:00 p.m.

In a preview of his address, Rabbi Weinreb declared, “Yerushalayim is important in many ways. On this day, when we celebrate the return of the holy city to Jewish hands, all of its many facets must be remembered.” In this address Rabbi Weinreb will focus on three of those facets, as noted in the title.
