Rabbi Steven Weil, executive vice president of the Orthodox Union, led a private bipartisan session for members of the OU and the Rabbinic Council of America (RCA) at the recent AIPAC Annual Policy Conference in Washington, DC.

Rabbi Weil facilitated a conversation before representatives from more than 75 OU member synagogues between Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY), ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Congressman Ed Royce (R-CA), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Among topics addressed were Iran, and the Iron Dome missile defense system.

“Representatives Royce and Engel were extremely open and frank with the rabbis, and we were extremely grateful to have them leading the Foreign Affairs Committee. The challenges that lie ahead for all of Western civilization are serious, and will require extreme diligence over the coming decade,” Rabbi Weil reflected.

Rabbi Weil also served as Scholar-in-Residence at the AIPAC Shabbaton preceding the Policy Conference.
