NUEVO PROGRAMA DE LA OU QUE PROPORCIONA COMENTARIOS SEMANALES PARA AUDIENCIAS DE HABLA HISPAÑA

Con la expansión del programa internacional para la juventud de la NCSY a Sud-América con ramificaciones en Chile y Argentina; y con el Rabino Israel Lashak, nacido en México, líder de la Región suroeste de NCSY basada en Dallas, Texas, no es de extrañar que en el nuevo programa que es parte de un amplio crecimiento de opciones en OU Torah, el Rabino Lashak provee comentarios semanales en español mediante su programa “Perlas de la Tora.”
El programa, en www.ou.org/torah y outorah.org, empezó en octubre con el nuevo ciclo de la Tora. “Sabemos por Facebook que un buen número de oyentes de nuestros programas de Tora son hispano parlantes” explicó el Rabino Jack Abramowitz, editor de OU Tora. “Pensamos que sería bueno brindarles un shiur en idioma español con cierta periodicidad. Contamos con un muy talentoso educador, el Rabino Lashak, cuya lengua materna es el español. Le preguntamos si estaría interesado en hacer el programa y el contestó inmediatamente que sí.”
Los nuevos programas se publican en nuestra página de internet semanalmente. El Rabino Lashak ha proporcionado ya varios comentarios para algunas porciones de la Tora y la duración de estos es de entre cinco y treinta minutos.”

PERLAS DE LA TORAH, NEW OU PROGRAM, PROVIDES WEEKLY INSIGHTS FOR SPANISH-SPEAKING AUDIENCES
With NCSY | Jewish Youth Leadership, the international youth program of the Orthodox Union, now having expanded to South America, with chapters in Chile and Argentina; and with Mexican-born Rabbi Israel Lashak leading the Dallas-based Southwest Region of NCSY, it comes as no surprise that in a new program that is part of the wide and growing array of entries on OU Torah, Rabbi Lashak is now providing weekly Spanish-language commentaries with his program, Perlas de la Torah, Pearls of the Torah.
The program, on www.ou.org/torah and www.outorah.org began in October with the new Torah cycle.
“We learned from Facebook that a good number of listeners to our Torah programs are native speakers of Spanish,” explained Rabbi Jack Abramowitz, OU Torah Content Editor. “We thought it would be nice to provide them with a Spanish language shiur on a regular basis. We happen to have a talented educator in Rabbi Lashak, whose first language is Spanish. We asked him if he’d be interested in doing the program, and he immediately said yes.”
New programs are generally placed on the website weekly, although Rabbi Lashak has already provided multiple lectures for some Torah portions. Lectures can potentially vary in length from five to thirty minutes.
As Rabbi Lashak says, “Viaje conmigo y profundizemos, en diversos temas, incluyendo pero no limitado a Parashat HaShavua, hashkafá y temas pertinentes a los tiempos en que vivimos, con una variedad de comentaristas antiguos y nuevos que abarcan diversos temas milenarios. Temas que le causaran intriga y que le dejaran con ganas y apetito de más conocimiento de la Torah . Estoy emocionado de compartir estos estudios, con mis hermanos y hermanas de la América del Sur. Por lo que sinceramente, espero que me acompanien todas las semanas en: ou.org, provocare temas de platica y reflexión en su deliciosa mesa de Shabat.”
In other words, “Travel with me as we delve into various topics including, but not limited to, Parshat HaShavua, hashkafa and pertinent topics of the times we live in, with a variety of old and new commentators spanning various millennia, and intriguing topics that will leave you wanting more Torah knowledge. I’m excited to share these studies with my South American brothers and sisters, so I sincerely hope you’ll join me each week at ou.org for some thought-provoking talk at your delectable Shabbat table.”
With Spanish as the native language spoken in at least 20 countries, and widely spoken in many others, including the United States, Rabbi Lashak has the potential of developing a worldwide audience. Right now, “El público meta incluye a Judíos en los Estados Unidos, México, Panamá, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile y Costa Rica. y el mundo de habla española en general.”
That is, “My target audience includes Jews in the USA, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile and Costa Rica, and the Spanish speaking world at large.”
