OU AND PARTNERS TO PRESENT JOB FAIR AND NETWORKING EVENT AT STATEN ISLAND JCC, DECEMBER 1

The Orthodox Union Job Board, in partnership with the Staten Island JCC and FEGS Health and Human Services System, will present a “Staten Island Job Fair and Networking Event” on Tuesday, December 1 at the Joan and Alan Bernikow JCC, 1466 Manor Road, in Staten Island. The program will bring together local employers, employment professionals, financial experts, community agencies, and community networks to inspire and facilitate networking and employment opportunities for job seekers and employers alike.

The event will consist of a job fair, informative workshops, as well as personal meetings with employment professionals and potential employee candidates. Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet employers with current job opportunities, perfect and circulate their resumes, and arrange personal conferences with employment professionals from FEGS and the UJA- Federation of New York’s Connect-to-Care.

“This is a wonderful opportunity given today’s economic climate to offer available jobs and networking information. The employers on board will make jobs that they normally fill internally known to the job seekers attending this event. We hope this will bring employment to the many people expected to attend,” declared Job Board Director, Michael Rosner.

Employers will be able to represent their companies with informational booths for the Job Fair component of the event; FEGS Career and Transition Services representatives will be available to provide employers with referrals of pre-screened candidates for a range of positions. Additionally, all attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a speed-networking activity to fine-tune and practice networking skills.

To participate in the event, employers should contact Katie Raskin at (212)524-1790 or kraskin@fegs.org and job seekers should register at www.oujobs.org.
