HUNDREDS STRONG, ORTHODOX UNION DELEGATION DEMONSTRATES LOVE FOR ISRAEL AT SUNDAY’S PARADE IN NEW YORK

With the theme of “Doing More for You and Your Community” the Orthodox Union float leads an OU delegation hundreds strong at Sunday’s Israel Day Parade in New York. The delegation consisted of members of the NCSY youth program and the Yachad program for those with disabilities, marching up Fifth Avenue along with OU lay leaders and staff members, all waving to the crowd and enjoying themselves thoroughly. OU Executive Vice President Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb (waving) and President Stephen J. Savitsky ride on the top level of the float.

Mr. Savitsky said: “The people of Israel, beset as they are on all sides by enemies, are certain to be encouraged and delighted by the outpouring of love for them and for Israel demonstrated at the parade, not only by the marchers, but by those lining the sidewalks. The American Jewish community is Israel’s greatest friend, and the Orthodox Union, as always, leads the way in demonstrating this love and devotion. Next year, we’ll do it again.”
