FOLLOW-UP: GROUPS FROM ALL OVER THE GLOBE FILL OU’S NINE DAYS LEARNING FOR ISRAEL CALENDAR

“As of Friday morning, we have successfully organized learning groups who will be learning for the z’chut of our brothers and sisters in Israel, and have ensured there will be learning somewhere in the world for 24 hours a day for the eight day period leading up to Erev Tisha B’Av. The complete full calendar can be seen at . This learning project literally spans the globe, reaching shuls, camps, summer Kollelim, military bases and others groups in hundreds of communities on five continents (Antarctica couldn’t commit to a minyan). From the summer camps in the mountains to the SEED programs in Australia to the YU Summer program in the Negev, from a military base in Pearl Harbor to a Brisker Kollel in Yerushalayim to the Jewish community in France, and everywhere in between, the Jewish world has come together for these eight days with the most powerful weapon we have, the Torah, for our brothers and sisters in harm’s way. Hopefully this will have a positive effect on the dire situation in Israel,” said Rabbi Robert Shur, Program Coordinator in the OU’s Pepa and Rabbi Joseph Karasick Department of Synagogue Services.
