DENVER ACADEMY OF TORAH STUDENTS VISIT THE OU FOR A SPECIAL PRESENTATION ON KOSHER LAW

Students from the Denver Academy of Torah (DAT) visited Orthodox Union headquarters in New York last week as part of their school trip, for a special presentation on Kosher law. The presentation was a part of OU Kosher’s new initiative, the Harry H. Beren Visit program, which makes it possible for students to visit the OU to learn the finer points of kosher law and observance.

Visit is a companion to the long-running ASK program to train mashgichim. Both programs are made possible by the Harry H. Beren Foundation of Lakewood, NJ, which provides financial support to a wide variety of educational programs of OU Kosher.

“It is very gratifying for the OU to have a graduate of our ASK programs, Rabbi Daniel Alter, who wishes to impart some of his experience in kashrut training to the next generation. Our newly established Visit program was designed just for that,” declared Rabbi Yosef Grossman, Director of Kashrut Education at OU Kosher.

“We are also grateful for the generosity of the Harry H. Beren Foundation for making both of these programs possible,” he said.
