FOUNDATION FOR JEWISH CAMPING LISTS NCSY SUMMER PROGRAMS ON ITS WEBSITE; WILL PROVIDE INCREASED SCHOLARSHIPS TO NEW YORK AREA YOUTH
NCSY announced today that two of its summer camp programs, NCSY Summer Experience for Girls (SEG) and Camp NCSY Sports (for boys), will now offer increased scholarship funding to its participants from the New York area through a grant to UJA-Federation of New York made available by the Foundation for Jewish Camping. The grant will allow more teens the opportunity to participate in a meaningful Jewish camp experience.
As a result of the grant, families associated with the participating synagogues are eligible to receive $1,250 for first time participants and $750 for second time campers. Applicants may apply for these scholarships through the 20 synagogues from the New York area which were selected by UJA-Federation of New York.
The Foundation for Jewish Camping is committed to doubling the number of children benefiting from a summer at Jewish camp and to enriching the Jewish camping experience through professional and leadership development, training, resources, advocacy, and programming. FJC, a public foundation, is the only national organization working with the field of nonprofit Jewish summer camps, with a constituency of more than 130 nonprofit Jewish summer camps and 62,000 campers across North America. Camps affiliated with FJC cater to all Jewish denominations and affiliations.

Camp NCSY Sports is located in a Baltimore suburb. It offers boys at all levels of learning an opportunity to play sports and to participate in other camp activities, while studying and growing in Torah.
Its sister companion, NCSY SEG, located in New York’s Catskill Mountains, gives girls an opportunity to travel to Hershey Park and tour New York City. Campers will be able to choose their own activities from a variety of possibilities, including swimming, sports, art, horseback riding, and aerobics. At the same time, they will explore different themes in Judaism by participating in interactive classes given by rabbis and teachers, as well as experienced advisors.
