OU’s YLC Introduces New Program, Women’s Executive Lunch and Learn

August 06, 2008

The Lunch and Learns are expected to be a monthly event.

YLC is a group of young professionals – men and women – who are committed to building a stronger Jewish community, enhancing Jewish education and supporting Israel by taking leadership roles in major American Jewish organizations. YLC programs create networking opportunities, enhance personal and professional growth and provide informative lectures on how to become a successful lay leader.

The inaugural session of the new program took place on Tuesday, August 5 at the offices of the accounting firm RSM McGladrey, Inc., and featured Rebbetzin Smadar Rosensweig, Professor of Bible at Stern College. Rebbetzin Rosensweig spoke about the Haftarah’s relevance in today’s times.

Tzivia Arnow, Director of YLC, declared, “We at the OU believe that it is especially important to have events that cater to professional women, who often don’t have the time or opportunity during the day to learn Torah and enjoy an atmosphere where they can network with other Jewish professionals.”

Those interested in sponsoring a future Lunch and Learn event, speaking at one, or making available a conference room for use, please contact Ms. Arnow at arnowt@ou.org, 02 212-613-8134.
