OU Presents Positive Jewish Parenting Seminar, Nov 15 and Jan 10, at Rosenbaum Yeshiva in River Edge

OU TO PRESENT POSITIVE JEWISH PARENTING SEMINAR, NOVEMBER 15 AND JANUARY 10, AT ROSENBAUM YESHIVA IN RIVER EDGE

To strengthen parenting skills and to provide advice from leading Orthodox mental health professionals, the Orthodox Union Department of Community Services, in conjunction with the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services of the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey, located in River Edge, will present a Positive Jewish Parenting program to be held at the Rosenbaum Yeshiva, 666 Kinderkamack Road, on two Wednesdays: November 15, 2006 and January 10, 2007. Both workshops will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Positive Jewish Parenting, a national program of the OU, has been presented to large audiences across the United States.

"In today's society, children face many challenges in the school environment," declared Frank Buchweitz, OU National Director of Community Services and Special Projects. "Our program will make parents aware of the challenges facing their children and provide them with effective skills to help the children deal with problems of bullying and developing self-esteem.

On November 15, Dr. Rona Novick, Ph.D., will present on the topic, Bullying, Teasing and Your Child. She serves as the Clinical Director of the Alliance for School Mental Health as well as a Senior Psychologist in the division of Adolescent Psychiatry at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. She is a member of the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and maintains a private practice on Long Island.

Information on January 10 topic, Developing Positive Self Esteem and Coping with Peer Pressure, by Dr. Aviva Biberfeld, Ph.D., will be released closer to the date.
