NEW YORK NCSY PRESENTS TORAH HIGH, AN EXCITING TEEN PROGRAM IN BROOKLYN, BEGINNING SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21

New York NCSY will kick off the week, beginning October 21, with a Sunday dose of Torah High. This exciting teen morning program will feature great food, discussion and text-based classes for boys and girls from across the vast spectrum of Jewish observance.

More than a 1,000 teens participate in Torah High throughout North America.

The New York program will be held free of charge at the Ocean Avenue Jewish Center, 2600 Ocean Avenue, in Brooklyn, from 10 am to 12 pm.

Through this program teens will have an opportunity to meet new people, form meaningful friendships, learn about their heritage and have fun.

"What better way to start off your week than meeting up with friends, eating and learning a bit?" commented Rabbi Mikey Albala, Associate Director of Development of New York NCSY.

According to Rabbi Nahum Zak, Director of New York NCSY, "Our staff wanted to start this type of program for a long time. While the Region has learning programs such as Burn n' Learn and Torah with a Twist, NCSY's presumption is that a Sunday morning program will have a very different feel than after-school, and evening learning programs. A fresh program like Torah High, first of its kind in a number of years, is sure to be a success."

Burn 'N Learn is a weekly program which consists of a barbecue and learning sessions while Torah with a Twist provides teens snacking on pretzels with a forum to discuss topics such as leadership and personal goal setting, combined with a solid Torah perspective.
