In Need of Kidney Transplant

February 07, 2007

Dear Members of the U.S. Jewish Community,

A member of the Jewish community of the greater Washington, D.C. area has just discovered that she is in dire need of a kidney transplant due to a sudden diagnosis of end-stage kidney disease. Her condition is caused by the same rare disease that affected Alonzo Mourning (the basketball player). Anyone with Type B+ or O+ blood who would consider this procedure would be greatly appreciated. For the donor the surgery is done laparoscopically with minimal scarring and recovery time. All of the donors' medical costs as well any incidental expenses including loss of income will be covered.

All interested parties should call Eloida Gonzalez, the transplant coordinator at Washington Hospital Center at 1-800-252-2442 or 202-877-9035. She will be happy to discuss the entire protocol and arrange the required testing for interested parties.

All inquiries will be kept strictly confidential.

Please reference patient C. Segal.

Thank you so much for considering this and passing along this message to the other communities in your lives so that we can spread this word as widely as possible. Her optimal chances for success involve finding a donor within the next two months
