Congregation Ahavas Sholom was founded 85 years ago and has a membership
of about 100 families.
In addition to daily worship services and weekly Jewish studies classes, the
congregation offers a variety of social, educational, cultural, holiday and
youth programs. Much of the synagogue's programming is focused on family
participation and is designed to include something for everyone.
The shul recently installed an innovative mechitza. The mechitza consists
of a series of one-way mirrors that allow women a full view of the shul, while
fulfilling halachic requirements of preventing men from viewing the
women's section.
A series of stained glass windows, depciting shabbos and the holidays
is also planned.
The first window in the series, depicting a shabbos theme,
was recently installed.
