Established more than 100 years ago, Bikur Cholim Machzikay Hadath Congregation is Seattle's oldest congregation. As the city's main Ashkenazic Orthodox synagogue, BCMH attracts young families from around the Puget Sound area and from around the country.

Shabbos and holiday services at the Seward Park synagogue typically draw over 300 people, including nearly 100 children. An active youth program offers extensive activities for children of all ages throughout the year, including Shabbos morning Junior congregation (ages 8 through 12), Shabbos groups for younger children (4 through 7), and a professionally staffed toddler group (ages 1 through 3). There are also frequent activities on Shabbos afternoons and on Sunday mornings. Camp Kol Rena, a summer day camp, is open to all Jewish children entering first through sixth grades.

BCMH is the only synagogue in the city which conducts morning, afternoon and evening services every day of the year. Please call the congregation for the exact time of services for a particular date.

Programs for adults include a Men's Club which holds regularly scheduled Sunday morning breakfast with guest speakers (following the second Shacharis minyan; men, women and children are welcome), a Sisterhood, a Scholar-in-Residence program, a biennial "Pride in Bikur Cholim" Day and an annual banquet. The Seattle Kollel learns daily in the Congregation's library.

Rabbi Kletenik, and his wife, Rivy Poupko Kletenik, offer a wide range of adult education classes, all open to the public. Please call the shul office or information line for a complete schedule.

BCMH maintains an eruv around the Seward Park neighborhood, a mikvah on the Congregation's premises, a cemetery and a Chevra Kadisha.

The Congregation's hospitality Committee welcomes all Jewish families and singles, whether Seattle area residents or visitors, to spend Shabbos or a holiday with a family in the Seward Park community. Please call the shul office at (206)721-0970 for arrangements, or with any other inquiries.

The congregation has a vibrant branch which meets on Capitol Hill, in the Council House for Shabbos morning services at 9:00. The Capitol Hill minyan is located within walking distance of downtown hotels and the Convention Center:
