The Jewish community is not immune to the various diet and health misconceptions, pressure to be thin, biological and environmental factors contribute to the rising numbers of eating disorders, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. Eating disorders affect the entire Jewish community, from the irreligious to the ultra-orthodox.

Introduction The Orthodox Union recognizes that day school affordability is an issue of prime concern for the Orthodox community.
