Bucharest, ROMANIA
It is an awful moment for Israel, a moment that it has been too long already. i always thought that small people should say their word, by any means...street, petitions, so that PEACE would talk through their mouths.
Hang on Israel.
Shalom From Bucharest Romania

I think of Israel every day and every day I pray to Hashem to end this terrible time in Israel! We Jews live all over the world, in most countries and we have to support Israel and inform our non-Jews fellows about Israel and try to make our states interested in helping Israel.

I have my relatives in Israel too, I love Israel and think about it every day!

Carmei Tzur, Gush Etzion  ISRAEL

Dear Fellow Jews,
Shavua Tov to you all!

I am writing these few lines to you from my yishuv Carmei Tzur between Efrat and Gush Etzion and Ir Hakodesh, Hebron. As you all know we are still at war with our 'neighbors' - with neighbors like them , who needs enemies? and I would like to share with you a little bit about our daily lives.

Firstly , more than 50%of all the males - about 50men - got "tzav 8" (eighth command) which means an immediate call up for military duty between Pesach and Shavuot for different periods of time from 2-4 weeks. I for instance have done already this year since January - 45 days of miluim and there are those who have done more.
Think how it affects your family life and work.?

Secondly, I personally travel with a helmet and a bullet proof vest and it is really uncomfortable. B"H , I only work about 15 minutes from my home but still is this the atzmaut (independence ) that we dreamed of? Generally speaking life is more or less normal except that we don't go out at nights generally and if we do, we have a bullet proof car which we may use to go to Efrat or to Alon Shvut and to come right back (we are charged for this use - even if you have your own car.) Some families have relatives and friends who are not prepared to come visit beit for Shabat or a simcha. The kids whenever they travel have to go in bullet proof busses which makes the cost of traveling much more expensive. Even if they are going to do Chesed through Bnei Akiva.

We are not disheartened , but sometimes rather upset by the way the some politicians (from all the parties) react to the situation in general and to us, the settlers in particular.

Another topic that I would like to touch upon is the latest "Jewish terrorist group " that were caught a few weeks ago. Well I am the Director of the Yishuv Bat Ayin from where some of them come from as well as teaching in their Talmud Torah and I would like to put the facts - that are known in the right framework. Firstly, if the suspects are brought to trial and are found guilty, then we all cannot condone such activities and they must pay for their actions. Any action against the law is totally intolerable!!

Bat Ayin is a unique yishuv in that it is based on Jewish work only. All the work in the yishuv has been done by Jewish workers - no Chinese or Thailand or Rumanian workers. It is a yishuv which is as peaceful and serene as its surroundings overlooking the coastal plain .It has a yeshiva for Baalei Tshuva from abroad, a girls' seminary for girls from abroad as well as Israeli Baalot Tshuva. 2 Talmudei Torah, and pre-school programs as well and an industrial area for light industries. There are approximately 100 families from all backgrounds - Breslev, Sefardi, Chabad, Rav Kook etc.

But, we cannot generalize and say that "all the settlers" are like them or have plans to do similar actions. There have been a number of cases where the Secret Service have persuaded people to do illegal acts for all kinds of reasons. Not that I am stating that this a case like that , but just to bear it in mind. Similarly, I would like to pose a number of questions:
a) They were planning to do something illegal. What about all those politicians who gave weapons to our neighbors and are now firing at us? Why are they not on trial? I am not talking politics - just pure reason and logic.
b) Avishai Raviv who was the provocateur in the months before the murder of Yitzchak Rabin, has yet to go on trial for all his actions as well as his knowledge of the intentions to assassinate the PM.

Anybody interested in aiding the families, may send donations to:
Tzvi Enosh
Bat Ayin
D.N. Gush Etzion

Just simply food for thought.

I am a Christian, and I love Israel. You are God's chosen and He has not forgotten you. Those who bless you will be blessed, and those who curse you will be cursed. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and that the Lord will guide the leaders of Israel each and every day.

Jerusalem,  ISRAEL

Many people talk about the "Matzav", the situation in Israel, and the bad economic situation without really understanding what it means to us actually living here in Israel. Let me try to explain it simply. We live in a Dollar Linked economy, this means that all major expenses are charged according to the exchange rate for the Shekel against the U.S.Dollar.

I owned a very busy flower and houseplant shop in a good part of Jerusalem, right near to the Presidents official residence, for over 5 years it was hard work but I managed to establish a good business, with a good name, and my turnover every month was approximately 80,000 shekels. My rent was $1600 per month, linked to the dollar of course !

At the start of the last wave of terror about 18 months ago the Dollar exchange rate was about 4 shekels to the dollar so my rent paid every month was 6400.00 shekels which was only 8% of my turnover. However during the last 18 months the reign of terror has caused business to dramatically drop, here in Jerusalem by over 60%, and at the same time as the economy is in tatters and things are just getting worse the dollar exchange rate has leapt to almost 5 shekels to the dollar.

For me this meant that my sales every month dropped to about 35000 shekels a month and my rent rose to 8000 shekels a month almost 25% of sales!! and that is without city taxes, wages, electricity etc.etc. I have closed my lovely shop and now am working from a storage room to save rent and somehow survive. I am working by 'phone orders and by e-mail and can supply the same quality of service that I had before when I worked from my shop. Thankfully I have had some business from The States from people ordering by credit card and sending flowers, wine and gifts to their friends and family to show them that they are thinking of them in such difficult times. I have also had people asking me to send flowers to soldiers and people injured in different terror attacks.

Please help my business to survive.!

If you want to order flowers to be sent anywhere in Israel I can be reached until midnight Israel time at 972 53 722470 or by e-mail simikov@zahav.net.il.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

I feel Israel is a brave country and being a future convert I am studying for it.  I feel Jews are the one who are the brave and standing against the enemy in their backyards.
Shalom

ISRAEL
I am encouraged by the messages I see here, but the real fight is out there. Israel is slow to act on the Internet Warfare. Everyone of you should also go on OTHER FORUMS and make a habit of writing a "Support Israel" email/post each week (or day) to a politician/magazine/website etc. which holds an anti-Israeli position. It might not generate a sudden change in position but if we do it enough, it should help over time.

Jerusalem, ISRAEL
From what I hear in the world media, it seems like the non-Jews in the USA are much more steadfast in their support for the State of Israel than the Jews. That hurts me, and hurts us here in Israel in many ways - economically it is easy to measure. Where are you? We need you now! We miss you! Come visit! We need your confidence, miss your happy-go-lucky ways, your loud self-absorbed prattle in any public place, need your tourist dollars in our hotels, restaurants and entertainment. We are getting hardened. We feel abandoned. Don't leave us alone now. Now, that everything is so much better security-wise, we really feel the economic crisis.
Take your summer vacation in Eilat this year, leave Europe to the Europeans.

Rethymnon Crete, GREECE
The State of Israel is today’s Accretes of the Western World.  They deserve all our support, sympathy and economical cooperation more than ever.

USA
Thank you thank you thank you to the IDF for being the bravest and most humane army on the face of the earth and to every IDF soldier who lives up to their Jewish heritage in dealing with such a difficult situation. It's awesomely inspiring to watch the defenders of Israel not only be strong and smart but also ethical and kind, no matter what the temptation to act otherwise. Many many thanks also the police and agencies responsible for keeping Jewish terrorists from doing something awful. You guys are the best in the world!

Israel, you are close to my heart! It has been 4 yrs since my last visit. I am sorry that your economy/tourism has suffered. I pray that G-d will restore everything that the "canker-worm" has eaten. My husband & I agree to continually pray and financially sow into the Land G-d has given to His people. We will bring tours again!

We love you! You're gonna make it!
Shalom, Shalom!

I am not Jewish (unless you want to count my Great Grandmother!), but I want you to know that Christians around the world stand with you and support you.

We are filled with grief at the suffering of the Israelis by the suicide bombers and by the lies and propaganda being spread over our prejudiced airwaves. Fortunately, there are message boards and the internet as alternate sources of information.

You ARE being heard and you ARE being prayed for. May God bless you and keep you safe.

Shalom,
Melissa

With President Bush singing a new song daily we must support the Jewish right to our historical lands.  These lands, Judea & Samaria, are the same as native American lands & as the intuits in Canada gaining their historical rights to Nunavut, so must Jewish organizations demand that same right!

Our prayers are with Israel during these dark days. I am not Jewish, but I love and worship the same G-d. Your prophets told of days such as these, and worse. But Israel's G-d neither slumbers or sleeps, and He will defend Israel and Jerusalem just as Zechariah said!

2,000 years ago Rome (a "Super Power) decided to name Israel "Palestine". The residence of Israel, the Jews, have suddenly became "Palestinians", G-d forbid. But if the greatest Super Power (the world) called the region Palestine, surely the people (the Jews) living there are the ones that became the "Palestinians". Right? Wrong!

The world has never supported the Jews or Israel, indeed quite the opposite. Where was the world support throughout history? Where was the world when 1,500,000 Jewish children went up in smoke (WWII)? Where is the world today when innocent civilians are blown up to pieces (NOW 8 May 02)? Where is the support from the "Super Power" and the world? Where is the world when Israel defends herself?

38 years ago (1964 "Johnny come Lately") a group of Arabs decided to call themselves "Palestinians" creating a nest for Terrorism in Israel. The world, however, also calls them "Palestinians" and supports them and their "fight for freedom" which is a modern MASK for old fashioned Terrorism.

What do you think of the world?
"Can the whole world be wrong and Israel be right?"
YOU BET IT CAN!

We need you to remind the world of History, Facts and the shameful Truth!

Congratulation to organizers and participants "The Salute to Israel Parade in Manhattan" last Sunday. Where 700-800 thousand people showed their support for Israel, Well done!
It is a great shame however, when the worlds press shows even one person burning a flag, from even in some obscure corner of the world on every channel on all networks in almost all countries.
Yet 800,000 people joining in PEACE (with no violence, no flag burning, no damage) had hardly a mention on CBS, BBC, ABC or CNN. (disappointingly absolutely NOTHING in Australian press) Shame on the world media!

Thanks for the "SHOP ON LINE ISRAEL" link - I just bought some pizza and Pepsi for the IDF soldiers. I love soldiers - was one myself for 22 years.

We were even allowed to send a message to the soldiers. I asked them if they need tanks, jeeps, ammo, or whatever. Maybe someone in the IDF will get back with me. If so, I am going to bring this up at our JPFO meeting-we are a small post, but we can collect money and buy military hardware, or help to.

I'm afraid there is going to be embargos on weaponry to Israel from all over. Even if you all have enough on your own for 2-3 years, supplies do run out, and, you all have to keep up with the latest in warfare technology and capability like we do.

Hey, I'd rather build schools, parks, houses, help discover new cures and all that; but unfortunately, no one on earth that I know of is elevated enough that we can all lay our weapons down; in fact the whole world would have to do that at the same time. You never know, maybe one day. Today is NOT that day.

I join you in your prayers for the safety of the young men and women who defend Israel against the barbarous savages who would destroy Israel .

Though I am not Jewish, my heart and that of my house is with you. I and my children and grandchildren bless Israel constantly. May the Lord give you rest from your enemies and may you find peace within your borders soon. Wherever we see an opportunity to support the cause of Israel, we do so. Amongst all those we know and those we come into contact with
May the Lord hear your cry and answer you quickly in granting you peace in the land that the Lord gave to your ancestors

Accra, GHANA
I will like to hear from you on constant basis. Meanwhile many of us would like to visit Israel but it is rather unfortunate that Israel has no embassy in Ghana. Pleases try to bring an embassy to Ghana so that we can come to the homeland and learn what we have been denied for years.
Shalom!  Peace and life to you all.

We express our deepest feelings of support for the people and land of Israel. We know this is a fight for our survival and every one we speak to has the same feelings of concern and love for Israel. My non Jewish patients also express their concern and understanding of the difficult time Israel is facing. We say Tehillim every day for peace and success of the IDF and the political process.

Dear Israel,
I want you to know that, I can't stand this any more!
Every day there is a pigua and what happens then?  We run and hide in are houses, instead of going outside showing the Arabs that we don't care what they do!
This is our country! It belongs to us!
We also need to thank the soldiers of Israel (IDF) for protecting us and our country the whole time and not giving up for one second!
Now I'm telling you all, go out there and pray to G-d and just believe in G-d!!!

New York, NY
It is with great warmth that I address the soldiers, their families, and all Jews in Israel who are living through these times. We think of you each day, each hour, each minute and pray for your safety. I will be in Jerusalem in mid-May and will pray for all Jews at the Wall. Be safe!

USA
5 ways Americans can support Israel:
(1) Highlight the atrocious human rights records of the Arab states : Iraq vs. the Kurds; Egypt vs. the Copts; Sudan vs. Christians, etc
(2) Boycott French goods, given France's anti-Semitism and the fact that France is calling for a boycott of Israel; consider travel to South America or Asia rather than Europe
(3) Attend pro-Israel rallies and bring non-Jewish friends; numbers count!
(4) Keep yourself informed : read Jerusalem Post; Ha'aretz; Weekly Standard; The New Republic; watch "Alan Keyes" on MSNBC
(5) Educate Christian friends : make the link between the US war on terror and the Israeli war of terror; discuss the PLO's war against Christians in Lebanon

Am Yisrael Chai!
