The Orthodox Union Singles Connection is back for another year of exciting events. Once again, the season will kick off on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, as singles will have the opportunity to meet, mingle and dine during the annual Simchat Torah for Singles event, Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14.
Simchat Torah begins at the conclusion of the Sabbath, October 14. Since travel is prohibited on the Sabbath and the singles will already be present on the Upper West Side, the festive meals will precede the Simchat Torah celebration.
This year, the OU is offering two elegant dining options. Option one includes Friday night dinner and Shabbat lunch at Levana restaurant, 141 West 69 St., between Broadway and Columbus Avenues. Option two provides Friday night dinner and Shabbat lunch at Mike's Bistro, 228 West 72 St., between Broadway and West End Avenues. Both options are at a net price of $55 per meal.
"The West Side is a magnet for thousands of singles over the holidays," explains Frank Buchweitz, OU National Director of Community Services and Special Projects." People come from as far away as England to our events."
The holiday mood and the low-key atmosphere will make it conducive for singles to relax and enjoy themselves while meeting new people. "After all, you never know who you'll meet," said Mr. Buchweitz, adding that a couple who met at Mike's, just got married.
