Part One of the process, which entailed a webinar featuring Ron Machol of the Aliyah Job Center instructing prospective employees on how to polish their resumes for the Israeli job market, took place on July 26. The event was a great success and is available for viewing through www.oujobs.org.
One participant made the following comment about the session:
“Ron's resume writing event was a smashing success, with many participants who kept up an active dialogue and asked insightful questions on the Israeli job market. Ron answered all the questions and gave over an enormous amount of information.”
With the information participants received, as well as with the help of expert resume writers in Israel, Michael Rosner, Director of the OU Job Board, expects the interim weeks to yield rewritten and polished resumes suitable for potential Israeli employers.
Mr. Rosner stated, “During these few weeks between Parts One and Two of the ‘Online Israel Job Interview Fair,’ I will be sending the revamped resumes to Israeli companies and employers. On Sunday, August 9, interviews via webcast will be conducted between those making aliyah who participated in the resume-polishing event and Israeli employers. I am pleased to be able to help facilitate communication between the two groups and to help job-seekers obtain professional positions in their new home.”

Note that this Fair is only for people moving to Israel over the summer in 2009. A full-service Job Fair for English-speaking olim living in Israel is being planned for late December/early January.
