Michael Rosner, Director of the OU Job Board, declared, “The classes we are offering this summer teach the specific skills employers are looking for in prospective employees. As important as helping people find jobs is, it’s equally important to help prepare them with the skills necessary to help them succeed in those jobs.”
The specific series of classes the Job Board is offering are as follows:
• “Learn the Mac OS X Leopard Experience,” which takes places from 10:00- 11:30 a.m. on six consecutive Tuesdays: July 7, 14, 21, 28, and August 4 and 11. The classes will be taught by Linda Wong, Computer Graphics Professor, Bramson ORT College.
• “Adobe Photoshop,” from 11:45 am – 1:15 p.m., on the same six Tuesdays as the MAC OS X classes. The teacher will be Professor Wong.
• “Microsoft Powerpoint,” will be from 1:25-2:55 p.m., on June 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28, and August 4, and is also taught by Professor Wong. Some topics that will be covered are: working with a slide master; working with handouts; using clip art; working with SmartArt; and creating a web presentation.
• “The Quicksbooks Experience,” will be from 1:30-2:45 p.m. The days are Monday, July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, and 17. The class will be taught by Michael Kahan, Adjunct Professor of Accounting, Bramson ORT College.
All classes are free after a small one-time registration fee of either $25 for MAC OS, Photoshop, or Powerpoint, or $36 for either QuicksBooks or Web Development. Registration for all three basic computer skill courses – Mac OS, Photoshop, and Powerpoint – is available at a single, discounted rate.
