A recent posting on a blog implied the OU had created a fund in Leiby Kletzky's name and that proceeds from that fund would not be forwarded to the Kletzky family. The OU has a long standing history of collecting donations on behalf of our community. The Kletzky family is no different. Malicious messages hurt all of us. Here is the letter from the family's representative, sent to the website that made the malicious post.

The collective grief and heartbreak that is being shared by K'lal Yisrael and the broader community over the unspeakable horror that took the life of 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky is only surpassed by the unremitting pain that is surely felt by his parents, his sisters, and HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
Through the tears and the sadness a memorial fund in Leiby's name has been established that will be used to wrestle meaning out of this unthinkable tragedy. The fund will be used to help young orphans cope with tragedy, help indigent families feed their children, help needy children falling behind in school, help poor parents clothe their children in dignity, help critically ill young children, help penniless couples to marry, and help families going through a critical time in their lives.
Although words are woefully insufficient at a time like this, it is our sincerest hope and prayer that the Kletzky family find comfort among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. May Leiby's memory be for a blessing.
