The Paroches was a curtain with embroidered cherubim that could be seen from either side. The Paroches separated between the Holy (the Kodesh) and the Holy of Holies (the Kodesh HaKadoshim). The Aron would be placed inside the Kodesh HaKadoshim and its cover would then be placed upon it.
