Alumnus of the Month - Annie Wasserman
Annie hails from Columbus Ohio and started NCSY in 5th grade. After serving on regional board for Central East, she returned there as an advisor. She has also had advisor roles for Canada, Yarchei Kallah, West Coast, and the ICE summer program. While at Stern College, Annie has dedicated herself to the welfare of others through her participation in a service mission to Nicaragua, the Student Life Committee, and currently as a Graduate Assistant. Starting this past summer, Annie has become a YU Presidential Fellow for the CJF’s leadership training division. Besides assisting in numerous training programs, she has been organizing a YU student delegation for the United Jewish Communities General Assembly Conference in November where thousands will gather to discuss issues in the world of Jewish communal service.

A young yeshiva bochur stood up and gave me his seat and I was very grateful (a sign of aging gracefully;). Alumni and NCSY Keeping The Flame Alive

We arrived at 1400 hours. The military sentries, professional and courteous, checked our IDs and examined our jeep and its contents. We were cleared for entry, and given a military escort to the synagogue that stood in the center of the base. Our host, the military commander of the base, arrived at the synagogue about the same time we did. We shook hands and he greeted us warmly. We davened Mincha in the Golani infantry unit synagogue, and then we headed out to distribute almost two hundred pairs of tefillin.
