Position Responsibilities - Summary

The Manager, Client Technology Engineering will be responsible for managing the client technology engineering team in our Marlborough Office. The position requires outstanding project management skills, a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise, and people management skills. The person in this role must be adept at gathering business requirements as they relate to emerging technology needs, formulating teams to evaluate products, conducting pilots with a goal of providing quantitative feedback and assessments, and managing product rollouts to the firm.

Detailed Responsibilities:

· Work closely and proactively with all members of IS to meet project and business objectives effectively and efficiently.

· Provide project management support to the team during major rollout and upgrades

· Provide technical expertise to the team and the firm

· Identify and exploit technology opportunities that cost effectively gain efficiencies, increase performance and improve reliability in alignment with overall business objectives. Solutions should be identified using both internal resources and external technology partners.

· Recommend and / develops productivity tools for the desktop support organization

· Help define, implement and maintain Information Technology standards, policies, process and procedures as it relates to managing the desktop environment (standard image, group policy and build process)

· Identify potential desktop security issues, review security bulletins and provide recommendations to remediate threats

· Mentor team on related functions and knowledge

· Research, recommend and implement collaborative technologies such as Net Meeting, Web casting, desktop videoconferencing, electronic whiteboards, instant messaging, etc.

· Research, recommend and implement wireless networking technologies that meet business requirements while maintaining strict security guidelines

· Implement software licensing and metering controls to assist the firm with adherence to software licensing requirements

· Act as a liaison with other systems areas and outside consultants. Actively participates in department initiatives, projects and problems resolution. Provides support as necessary.

· Enable environment for engineering and desktop support teams that encourages collaboration and information sharing on a continual basis via meetings, documentation and presentations

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. Or, minimum of 5 years experience in management and 10 years overall experience in Information Technology field.

· Demonstrated technical, analytical, diagnostic skills when resolving IT related issues required to support business needs. Must possess the ability to think strategically.

· History of successfully managing project implementations such as product implementations and upgrades

· Strong oral and written communication skills; strong leadership skills

· Strong understanding of systems technology as it relates to the desktop.

· Proven ability to manage multiple objectives, project, and deadlines effectively

· Desktop Support experience in a variety of Windows operating system environments

· Desktop build experience using Ghost or similar imaging tools · Desktop deployment experience using images

· Software deployment experience using Marimba or other automated tool

· Focused on quality - Organized - Process oriented - Committed to continual improvement

· Aggressive and creative problem solver

· Outstanding inter-personal and leadership skills

· Ability to manage in crisis or high pressure situations

Technical Proficiencies:

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Desktop technologies including Windows Outlook, Exchange, Microsoft Office, Group Policy and Active Directory. MS Certifications a plus

· Strong applications knowledge

· Familiarity with Marimba or other software distribution tool

· Experience with Remote Management Tools

· Strong knowledge of wireless technologies and networking

Keys to this Position:

. Has worked in the Desktop Engineering field. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Desktop technologies including Windows, Outlook, Exchange, Microsoft Office, Group Policy and Active Directory. MS Certifications a plus.

· Management experience and proven capacity to develop staff

Sr. Linux/Unix Sys Admin - Marlborough, MA Area – Up to $100K+

Position Responsibilities - Summary

This is a senior level position reporting to the Unix Team Lead.

The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for implementing and supporting Linux servers and software in a grid environment. In addition, the candidate will partner with the Linux community.

The ideal candidate for this position should be able to perform both basic & advanced Unix administration tasks including server builds, cluster management, open source software build and troubleshooting, SAN/NAS storage configuration, and the management of software infrastructure and tools.

The candidate will be asked to enhance and develop the team's documentation.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and extremely capable of communicating effectively with co-workers at both the technical and non-technical levels.

The ideal candidate should also possess an extensive background in capacity planning, performance measurement, server and storage design. Possessing some level of versatility is key to the success of this position.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· 5 years of implementing and administering Linux systems in a production environment.

· Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Server.

· Experience with x86-based hardware.

· Experience with KickStart and RPM.

· Demonstrated shell scripting expertise.

· Experience with system security configuration and auditing.

· Experience with system performance monitoring and tuning.

· Experience building and deploying Open Source software.

· Ability to multi-task several mission critical tasks and projects with little or no supervision.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Pluses:

· Experience with HPC and grid computing, Sun Grid Engine a plus.

· Experience with distributed computing, MPI/PVM a plus.

· Experience with high-end storage devices and host-based logical volume managers: EMC Symmetrix, Clariion, and Veritas Volume Manager are a plus.

· Experience with Sun Solaris systems is a plus.
