Position Responsibilities – Summary:

The Vice President, Business Development, a key member of the leadership team will focus on structuring and negotiating deals that drive revenue and site traffic.

This person should possess the ability to be creative in finding the right partners to drive the company’s business objectives.

Candidates must have substantial experience negotiating deals and knowledge of online business practices with the ability to be creative in deal structures.

This position will be a part of the executive team and report directly to the President.

Aspects of this role include being the internal company expert on consumer online behavior.

The ideal candidate will have a strong business development background, with experience in working with media companies and financial institutions, and will show a clear knowledge and understanding of the social & new media space.

Detailed Responsibilities:

· Identify, develop and negotiate business development relationships to grow revenue, audience, traffic and usage of the firm’s Online Market Place

· Interface with the sales team to drive partnerships that have revenue components

· Analyze the financial impact of potential partnerships and structure terms that mitigate risk and optimize revenue and profit

· Work with legal to negotiate and draft agreements

· Work with the marketing team to develop public relations strategies with partnerships

Required Skills and Competencies:

Candidates must possess the following:

· Undergraduate Degree, MBA preferred

· 5+ years of Internet business development experience with social networking and new media experience

· An in-depth understanding of the Internet, developing media platforms and the associated business models

· Passion for online media

· Extensive deal negotiation and client management experience with the ability to structure complex business transactions

· High-level strategic thinker, creative and high energy person

· Outstanding communications, presentation & customer facing skills

· Ability to work well in a team environment

· Must be Hands on and willing & able to fully engage in all areas of responsibilities – Not afraid to get hands dirty – Proven success doing more with less – Small teams etc.

· Stable career history with proven track record of success

Pluses:

· Experience in a in a high traffic, Business/Consumer on-line/e-Commerce company

· Experience with start-ups highly desirable

· Banking or Retail Industry e-commerce experience a plus

Salary:

Commensurate with experience
