Job Description
As a Solution Architect, you will be working in Treasury Services Technology on the EFS (Electronic Financial Services) Design/Delivery team with a focus on both strategic and tactical/project level objectives. You will lead and influence architectural direction, communicate architecture and design objectives to technology stakeholders, and interface directly with Application Development managers and leads to assist and consult on solution design. You will ensure adherence/consistency of standards across architectural deliverables, identify and escalate architectural issues, assist in planning and coordination tasks across the EFS technology team, and assist in issue resolution where necessary. You will be responsible for engaging the appropriate technology subject matter experts within JPMorgan Chase to develop a technology roadmap to achieve the EFS strategic platform vision. Additionally, you will be responsible and held accountable for planning documents, architecture documents, project plans, estimates, managing open issues and risks for projects/initiatives related to achieving the next generation state of EFS technology. Critical thinking skills, a proven track record of producing results, Architecture experience, collaborative skills, and a sense of urgency/drive are keys to this position.
This position is a full-time position on the EFS Technology team. Your responsibilities will include managing/supporting the following types of projects/deliverables:
1. Driving the design and architectural requirements for leveraging data replication technologies to migrate various data and processes from current Tandem infrastructure to the distributed application space.
2. Assisting in the design and development of the 'next generation' technology platform strategy supporting both the EBT and Pre-Paid products/programs for the Public Sector.
3. Collaborating with Functional Analysts the Application Development teams on the development of solution/technical designs for delivering on application releases, complex client implementations, and internal technology optimization efforts.
4. Collaborating with the IT Delivery Management team, LOB Product team and where necessary, Vendor Management, to evaluate and recommend direction on strategic initiatives which may include application re-write/replacement, service enhancement initiatives, and internal technology optimization projects
Qualifications
* College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
* 12+ years of IT delivery experience
* Broad experience across multiple platforms and technologies. Tandem, Unix, Windows, Oracle, SSO
Specific Technology experience:
* J2EE, .NET, SOAP, Messaging/MQ, & SOA
* Design Patterns & Iterative SDLC Processes
* Experience with large-scale technology implementations consisting of both custom and vendor package components
* Able to identify patterns based on previous exposure to numerous techniques and tools
* Ability to understand interrelationships and impact of technologies on current EFS technology stack
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences
* Influencing and engaging personality
* Good planning and organizational skills
* Self-starter who requires little supervision
* Works effectively within a team
* Ability to works with confidential information
