POSITION TITLE: Program and Project Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Community Services and Special Projects
REPORTS TO: National Director, Community Services and Special Projects
DESCRIPTION: The Program and Project Assistant advances educational and programmatic opportunities for communities and synagogues. Interfacing with Rabbanim and lay leaders in meeting communal needs is an integral component.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Work under the guidance and direction of the National Director of Community Services and Special Projects on a range of special programs, projects, and initiatives including research, writing and programming
Facilitate the planning, implementation and follow through of new initiatives
Work closely with synagogue and communal leadership on implementation local and national initiatives
Evening meetings as necessary for initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have an understanding of and dedication to the Orthodox Union mission and goals of the Department of Community Services. The individual will be a high-energy team player with a sense of humor and a positive attitude as well as a strong desire to learn new skills and take on new projects and direction.
This position requires ability to follow direction, follow through on detail, excellent communication, writing skills, and organizational skills.

Requirements:
* 2 to 5 years experience designing and coding
* Excellent design sense with good understanding of Web 2.0 usability techniques and layout
* Must be able to design visual concepts for website - look, feel and navigation/organization
* Must have strong coding HTML skills
* Full understanding of CSS (little or no usage of tables for page layout)
* Proficient in Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop
* Experience with PHP, javascript
* Must have a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
