Who Can I Talk To?

Abstinence, like many teen choices, can be a difficult thing for someone to deal with on their own. Luckily, you DO have people you can talk to about these issues! Your friends and older siblings are great, of course, but remember that they may be wrestling with the same issues. There is no shame in talking to an adult about these matters. Don't be embarrassed! Believe it or not, today's adults are yesterday's teens. They went through the same thing not all that long ago and they now have additional perspectives to contribute. Among the people you can talk to:

*Your parents

*Your school counselor

*Your doctor

*Your rabbi

*Your youth group advisor or director

*You can write to us at

Remember that not everyone you speak to is a professional. There will be differences of opinion. But talking it out before taking action (or deciding not to take action!) will help you make better-thought-out choices.
