Orthodox Union President Dr. Simcha Katz announced today that Ron Lipstein, a certified public accountant and corporate CEO, has been named Chairman of the Israel Center Commission, which oversees the work of the Seymour J. Abrams OU Jerusalem World Center.
Mr. Lipstein, a resident of Woodmere, NY, is Chief Executive Officer of Premier Multispeciality Inc, a Teaneck, NJ-based health-care company focusing on cancer radiation therapy centers, outpatient medical group practices and diagnostic imaging centers. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York with a BS in accounting, and is licensed by New York State as a CPA.
“We are very fortunate that Ron has accepted our invitation to chair the Israel Center Commission,” Dr. Katz said. “Our personal friendship spans more than twenty years, and I am excited about his taking on the responsibility of lay oversight of the programmatic and fiscal operations of the OU’s activities in Israel. His business experience and passion for Israel will make him a dynamic and disciplined advocate of our activities there.”
Mr. Lipstein declared, “It is a privilege to work under the leadership of Dr. Simcha Katz and the talented and committed group of individuals at the Orthodox Union, an organization with a broad mandate to help world Jewry. I particularly look forward as Chairman of the Israel Center Commission to assist Rabbi Avi Berman in furthering the Orthodox Union's goals and innovating other meaningful and exciting programs at the Israel Center which play such a central role in Jewish communal and religious life."
Responding from Jerusalem, Rabbi Berman, Executive Director of OU Israel, declared, “I look forward to working closely with Ron and to welcoming him to OU Israel. When sitting with Ron, you cannot help but be moved by his passion and love for the Jewish people and Israel. He thinks of the community and about his role in strengthening it.”
