OU’s Rabbi Weil to be Scholar-in-Residence, Ahavath Torah in Englewood, 9/16-17
Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Rabbi Steven Weil will serve as Scholar–in-Residence at Ahavath Torah Congregation in Englewood, for Shabbat September 16-17, Parshat Ki Tavo. The OU member synagogue is located at 240 Broad Avenue.
At a dessert reception in the synagogue beginning at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Rabbi Weil will address, “Mindfields: The Rambam’s Analysis of the Six Spiritual Roadblocks That Preclude Teshuva (Repentence).”
Shabbat morning, in the Main Sanctuary of the shul, Rabbi Weil will present “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus: The Jewish Version.” During the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m. in the shul, he will discuss “An Analysis of the Rosh Hashana Mussaf: Why Rosh Hashana Mussaf is the Most Misunderstood Prayer.” Rabbi Weil will also speak during seudat shlishit at the shul, addressing “Sustainability of the Orthodox Family: Challenges and Opportunities."
