OU Singles Connection Presents A Roundtable Discussion, Double Standards in Dating, December 11
To shed light on hot topic issues in dating -- including finances, physical appearance, and age differences, among other topics -- the Orthodox Union Singles Connection, in conjunction with Congregation Shearith Israel/ Spanish Portuguese Synagogue and EndTheMadness, presents a round table discussion, "Doubles Standards in Dating: Breaking Barriers and Debunking Social Customs," on Monday, December 11.
The event is open to singles ages 22 to 35. It will be held at Congregation Shearith Israel, 8 West 70th Street in Manhattan, and will begin at 6:00 p.m. with refreshments and opportunities to mingle, followed by the group discussion at 7:00 p.m.
"Doubles Standards in Dating: Breaking Barriers and Debunking Social Customs will answer questions that trouble today's singles," declared Frank Buchweitz, OU National Director of Community Services and Special Projects. "We hope this program sheds some light on issues that many are concerned about," he said.
Moderators for the interactive round table discussion include Simcha Feuerman, LCSW, Jewish Press Columnist; Marc Goldman, Founder of Saw You at Sinai; Naomi Mark, LCSW, practicing psychotherapist; and, Rabbi Moshe Bellows of the Yeshiva University Center for the Jewish Future. Closing remarks will be made by Rabbi Dr. Tzvi H. Weinreb, OU Executive Vice President, who is a clinical psychologist as well as a rabbi.
