OU Job Board To Hold Resume Checkup in Far Rockaway, March 8
Just as people visit the mechanic to check the health of their cars, so too should they ensure that their resumes are in tip-top shape, especially in these trying economic times. To that end, the OU Job Board will host a “Resume Checkup Day,” for students, the employed and unemployed, and professional individuals, Sunday, March 8, from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. The event will be held at Knesseth Israel, the “White Shul,” 718 Empire Avenue, Far Rockaway, NY.
The event is co-sponsored by the Eliezer Project of Cedarhurst, New York, which works with people who are unemployed or suffer from economic challenges and assists them in finding them new jobs or easing the burden of financial challenges.
Michael Rosner, Director of the OU Job Board, declared, “Whether you are employed these days or not, it’s always a good idea and prudent decision to have your resume checked out by a professional, who can evaluate its strengths and weaknesses and advise the best ways to present yourself and your qualifications in the best possible light.”
At the Resume Checkup, experts will review resumes and make corrections on the spot. There will be printers available to redo the corrected resume, and career counselors will be available to help decide the best professional path to pursue.
Another Resume Checkup is being planned for March 22 in Teaneck, NJ, co-sponsored by the Jewish Family Services of Bergen County. Further details will follow shortly.
Although the Far Rockaway event is free, advance registration is required and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register, visit www.ou.org/jobs, or contact email@example.com or 212-613-8391.
