National Special Education Conference, sponsored by the International Jewish Resource Center for Inclusion and Special Education, an affiliate of Yachad/NJCD.
This year’s conference will take place at Yeshivat Noam in Paramus, New Jersey.
Tuesday, November 6, 2012.
The conference is scheduled to take place side-by-side with an annual conference sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Jewish Day Schools. We hope that this will afford your educators the opportunity to select additional sessions that might interest them. Our keynote speakers will be Dr. Alan November and Dr. Jeffrey Lichtman who will speak on “Balancing 21st Century Learning with the Neshamot of Our Students.”
Our conference will focus on the use of technology to teach students with a wide range of challenges, including neurological, learning, and physical challenges. There will also be concurrent workshops, throughout the day, on educating students with special needs in disciplines throughout the curriculum. Subjects such as teaching math fluency to students with learning disabilities, teaching thinking skills, Explaining Tanach to students with learning issues, and developing literacy skills are just some of topics to be addressed. Please check the website, www.njcd.org/schoolprograms for the growing list of presenters and topics.
Please contact Batya Jacob at email@example.com if you are interested in receiving a registration packet. All materials are due by October 20, 2012 to ensure that your staff receives their first choices of workshops.
