David Rube, M.D.

Dr. David Rube is Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, published author and editor. Dr. Rube was an editor of “Clinical Child Psychiatry” published by W.B. Saunders, as well as one of the co-authors on a book dealing with treatment recommendations for aggressive youth. He has a private practice in Long Island and is clinical director of a New York State children’s psychiatric facility.

Aviva Schechter, Psy.D.

Dr. Schechter conducts psycho-educational assessments at the Learning Center in Riverdale, NY and is a psychological consultant at the SAR High School. Dr. Schechter has been involved with adults, children, and families in the clinical setting and completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.

Dr. David Pelcovitz

Dr. David Pelcovitz is Professor of Education and Psychology at Yeshiva University’s Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and also teaches courses in Pastoral Psychology in the Bella and Harry Wexner Kollel Elyon and Semicha Honors Program at the University’s affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchonon Theological Seminary. (RIETS). Dr. Pelcovitz has published and lectured extensively on a variety of topics related to child mental health, including: post-traumatic stress disorder, parenting, child, and adolescent behavior problems, child abuse, and the impact of divorce and stress on children.

Dr. Zina Rutkin

Zina Rutkin, M.Ed., Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist specializing in children and families. Dr. Rutkin has a Master’s Degree in Special Education, a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Family Studies. Dr. Rutkin is a staff member at the Ackerman Institute for Family Studies where she is working on developing a social-emotional learning curriculum for use with elementary age children. Dr. Rutkin has a private practice in Great Neck, New York, where she sees children, adults, couples, and families.

Her approach with children is family centered, involving parents in every aspect of the process.
